Purpose of the job


As part of the Sales Team Europe, reporting directly to the Head of Sales Europe you will be responsible for seeding the subject region within the European Market. As such, the Commercial Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, approaching and developing relevant biotechnology target customers to introduce and promote Datwyler’s products and services in developing new business opportunities through the initial stages of qualification.
The Commercial Development Manager will have a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively leveraging sufficient knowledge of the pharmaceutical packaging industry, the drug development process and Datwyler’s product offerings.

Areas of Responsibilities, include:


Analyzing and developing business opportunities in the European biotech market. Visiting relevant trade shows, networking within the relevant biotech organizations, R&D departments, equipment manufacturers, etc.  Analyzing market trends. Tracking competition activities.    Proposing  product portfolio optimization, supporting new product launch campaigns, etc.  Developing medium/long-term business development plan for the region and/or specific potential customers. Collaborate and transfer responsibilities to Key Account Manager at relevant stage of commercialization

Experience and Education Requirements


• Strong business focus and understanding of the sector. 
• Solid relationship building skills to set up a dynamic network. 
• Ability to identify and analyze opportunities. 
• Capable of taking leadership in defining account strategies and the implementation thereof. 
• Professional experience in the healthcare sector business development.
• Experience in dealing with manufacturing and technical issues as well as R&D departments is an asset. 
• Able to work both independently and as appropriate in partnership with Sales, Supply chain, technical, R&D and marketing partners. 

You are a professional residing in Europe (home based office) with a Bachelor’s degree in either engineering, science or business with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Pharma business-to-business sales. You are willing to travel domestically and overseas up to 50% of the time and are motivated to achieve results.  You also have strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to learn and flawlessly operate Datwyler’s CRM and ERP systems.
