Your responsibilities

  • Support the engineering workforce and the legal counsellor in IP-related contract negotiations (development agreements, license agreements, tech-transfer agreements, confidential disclosure agreements,…)
  • Handle trade secret issues and documents (identify, install measures for protection)
  • Co-ordinate and deliver company-wide training on IP-awareness
  • Organize and execute IP-checks of intended publications
  • Execute and present IP-based technology landscape exercises in different industry domains
  • Perform and present competition patent analyses for the different Datwyler business areas and based on the results, formulate recommendations on the portfolio strategy

Our requirements


  • Master degree in engineering (mechanical or chemical or electrical) or in science (physics or chemistry)
  • Patent search capabilities, with the objectives of creating technology landscapes and evaluating competition IP portfolio
  • First experience in (supporting) contract negotiations is a plus (good negotiation skills)
  • Eagerness to create awareness on the importance of Intellectual Property in the organization (training skills)
  • Experience in engineering and R&D roles in mobility, medical, food & beverage or the energy sector is a plus
  • A passion for technology and innovation
  • Driven, analytical and communicative personality
  • A strong collaborative engineer that knows how to get things done through formal and informal channels
  • Fluency in English (written and oral level C2), good communicational skills in Dutch and/or German will be an advantage


We are not seeking someone with a patent attorney degree as we work closely together with external patent attorney offices.
