Head Strategic Finance

As Head Strategic Finance, you are supporting Datwyler as a Group to achieve its long-term growth objectives based on data-driven financial insights and decisions. Through the activities in scope, you will steer business decision-making, prioritization and resource allocations at enterprise level, thus enabling long term, profitable growth of our business  and optimized value for our customers.  Aside from running the regular Finance events at enterprise level and serving as Finance Business Partner to stakeholders at enterprise level, you are actively driving strategy development and strategic decisions, including strategic planning and/or strategic initiatives. You will lead or support enterprise-wide strategic projects, including due diligences and integrations. 
In your capacity, you will lead a team of teams that enable the Finance framework within with the Datwyler business entities operate, including Group Accounting, Consolidation and Controlling,  enterprise-wise FP&A, and Business Insights.
 

Your responsibilities

  • You own the Strategic Planning Process and its execution. You support the strategy development from a financial perspective.  You support and/or own enterprise-wide, strategic initiatives initiated to implement the strategy and realize our long term ambition
  • You enable our strategic objectives, through creating understanding within the business for the drivers behind financial performance;  identifying strategies for revenue growth, cost savings and cash improvements; and driving implementation. 
  • You support critical decision-making and prioritization of limited resources, through fact-based analysis, actionable insights, business cases and end to end value stream analyses
  • As a core member of the Datwyler Group FLT, you drive value creation through investment effectiveness and operational efficiencies, whilst safeguarding compliance as a non-negotiable
  • You provide governance for all Finance processes, and strive for a consistent implementation across Datwyler. You work with IT to deliver efficient underlying systems. You improve our overall reporting capabilities so the business can benefit from effective and actionable insights. You drive standardization and simplification in our processes and deliverables 
  • You set  the framework conditions for all Finance events (actuals, forecasting, planning), Finance standards  and master data definitions, and safeguard financial compliance. Your team includes Group Accounting, Group Consolidation and Controlling services
  • You embrace enabling technologies and agile ways of working
  • You are effectively able to balance business and Finance interests, short term and long term perspectives, as well as global and local interest
  • You coach and develop the talents within your team and the wider Finance organization and own the Datwyler Finance onboarding.

Your profile

  • You have a university or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, and minimally 10 years of work experience across Finance Business Partnering, FP&A and Management Consolidation
  • You have direct and/or indirect leadership experience 
  • You have a strong understanding across the entire value chain - from R&D and operations down to commercial, and you understand the markets we are playing in.  
  • You are self-driven and have a strong delivery orientation
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are curious
  • You build trustful relationships allowing you to challenge the business
  • You are able to effectively inspire, mobilize and persuade others
  • You are a good negotiator
  • You are structured in your approach, have strong analytical skills
  • You are able to convey the main story represented in the numbers in ways that the business understands
  • You have experience working in an internationally operating, dynamic, matrix organization
  • You are fluent in English; German, Mandarin, or Spanish is an asset
