Job Summary:          

The Utility Operator is responsible for assembly and testing of parts.  Assembly includes use of hand tools to assemble components per instructions on drawings, bill of materials or other documents. Product assembly may require painting, lubrication or other coating.  Pressure tests all assemblies as required and generates computer test reports. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Study and interpret drawings, shop manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Visually inspect all components prior to assembly to ensure product quality, assemble all products as instructed and spray paint products as required.
  • Operate pressure test equipment and validate a successful test.
  • Detect and replace defective components.  Follow defective material procedures for non-conforming parts.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for parts.
  • Always maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Adhere to all HSES procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other job-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or graduation from certified technical school.
  • 2+ years’ experience required in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong work ethic, professional attitude, and be detailed oriented as well as reliable.
  • Must possess basic math skills, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication and division in all units of measure.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds.
