Job Summary:                       Set-up and operate some computer numerically controlled lathes and mills to fabricate metal parts.

Department:                          Machining

Reports To:                           Machinist A-Lead

Responsibilities:                   Operate some CNC lathes and or mills, including loading of parts, operating controls, and inspecting parts for conformance to company and customer specifications, policies, and procedures

Study and interpret drawings, shop manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

Qualifications:                       High school diploma or GED

                                                Must be able to program some parts.

Must possess basic math skills, including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication and division in all units of measure, including proficiency with geometry and trigonometry for the purpose of calculating material fabrication

Must have strong command of blueprint reading including an understanding of engineering drawings and customer specifications

Must have working knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used for machining

Years’ Experience Reqd.:    3

Physical Requirements:       Must be able to lift 35 pounds

Other Requirements:            Prefer experience with Haas and Mazak CNC mills
