The responsibility for a Shipping Lead is to lead, motivate, and support other members of the Shipping & Logistics Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide daily updates regarding missed attainments to customer orders.
- Report OTD daily.
- Complete qualitative documentation to improve OTD.
- Reply to customer requests specific to Shipping & Logistics.
- Planning and coordinating activities associated with the Shipping & Logistics department.
- Determine most cost effective way to ship and/or receive product.
- Maintain communication with inspection, production, and customer service on inventory levels (Finished Goods & WIP) and balances of purchase orders.
- Ensure the timely shipment of parts produced.
- Participate with scheduling team to support efficient operations.
- Planning how staff are to be assigned.
- Observing and monitoring the optimal deployment of labor, material and time.
- Responsible for the purchase of shipping supplies.
- Clean up work area during and at the end of each shift.
- Ensure all safety and environmental regulations and procedures and 5S procedures are followed by personnel while completing assignments
- Aware and understand QSR Quality policy and IATF 16949 work instructions.
- Understand ISO14001 Environmental Policy and Recycling Procedures
- Complete all necessary safety training

Education and/or Experience:
- 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language & Math Skills:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Computer Skills:
- Basic understanding of keyboard, monitor and hard drive, Microsoft Office Software, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems.
