The Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of all tooling used in rubber manufacturing at Datwyler.  This includes specialty dies and molds used for production.  Responsible to responds to work requests submitted by manufacturing operations to move, clean, and install, molds and dies as dictated by production planning. This is a 3rd shift position, Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.

Essential Functions: 

  •  Cleans, installs, removes, troubleshoots dies used to trim compression molded sheets of rubber product.  
  • Dismantles, deep cleans and reassembles, Molds at the request of operations. 

  • Records all mold/die cleaning and movement activities in SAP/4HANA.  

  • Troubleshoots and resolves trimmer/die problems. 

  • Sharpens extruder blades for Mixing department. 

  • Re-builds blow off valves for molds, and tests them for proper working condition. 

  • Sharpens Pre-control punches. 

  • Other duties assigned. 

 Education and Experience: 

  •  High School or GED equivalent required.  
  • Mechanical aptitude, basic understanding of part prints and tool drawings. 

  • Attention to detail, ability to inspect parts and tooling to ensure quality condition.
