Based on a strategic decision, we are looking for a Global Datwyler Production Systems (DPS) Manager, Americas. This position will lead the Americas in Operational Excellence fostering a culture of continuous improvement based on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs, Environment, and People.

Job Scope
As an expert in Lean and Operational Excellence at Datwyler, your job involves implementing the Datwyler Production System in various plants in your assigned region. You take responsibility for ensuring that the program delivers the expected impact and work with plant teams to identify, implement, and evaluate lean initiatives. By refining lean principles, and methodologies/tools, and training local change leaders and plant employees, you help the company achieve its goals of Operational Excellence.
As part of your role, you work with indirect leadership and don't have any direct reports or manage the budget. This position will sit in one of 2 locations in the US (Middletown DE or Twinsburg OH) and travel to other production sites within the Americas as a regular part of the job. You can expect to travel both domestically and internationally for over 60% of the time.
As the overseer of the DPS, you will be responsible for implementing global standards aligned with Datwyler values and strategy.
- Through constant communication with the site organization and Head of DPS, shape the deployment of the DPS and define annual objectives and priorities following DPS guidelines.
- To ensure cooperation within the organization, disseminate information and plans to sites, and continuously communicate with the Head of DPS regarding issue resolution, escalation, and deployment status.
- Mobilize the organization through campaigns to enhance participation in Continuous Improvement activities and DPS deployment.
- To facilitate workshops and on-floor events, train Site DPS Leads and employees in DPS Lean principles, methods, and tools.
- As an ambassador and DPS enabler, connect front-line engagement with leadership in the plant and interface with stakeholders to make things happen.
- Additionally, organize and conduct DPS Operational Excellence Maturity Assessments and, if requested, support Site DPS Managers, to define and follow up on action plans.
- Ultimate goal is to ensure the successful deployment of the DPS through effective communication and training while continuously striving for improvement and Operational Excellence.
Responsibilities
- As an integral member of the Global DPS team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Datwyler Production System (DPS) in various plants within your assigned region, and potentially globally if necessary.
- This will involve leading workshops, providing training, and coaching employees on Lean Principles, methodologies, and tools.
- It will also require regular reviews of existing training materials to ensure they remain up-to-date, and the introduction of new content as needed.
- To ensure a standardized approach to deployment, you will need to establish appropriate links between Group level Objectives & Key Results (OKR), Site strategy, Site Performance, and DPS deployment roadmap, including standard deployment approach, and rapid improvement events.
- You will need to work closely with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, across all functions and assigned regions, to achieve these objectives.
- This challenging role demands excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, as well as a strong commitment.
Your Profile
We’re looking for someone with solid work experience (a minimum of 5 years) in Lean manufacturing – preferably in a global manufacturing environment – combined with strong indirect leadership abilities, experience from collaboration with stakeholders, and a deep understanding of production systems.
Ideally, you have a proven track record of successfully implementing Lean transformation in operations and a passion for the field rooted in an in-depth comprehension of day-to-day shop-floor operations.
Acting in a global organization, you need excellent English communication skills. Your excellent conceptual and strategic skills with business acumen and customer orientation are valuable assets in this role and your financially and commercially savvy and structured way of working. Basic education and requirements for the position
- The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years of experience in implementing Production Systems and possess expertise in DPS/Lean principles and methodologies.
- They should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in developing and implementing CI and/or DPS activities.
- Additionally, the candidate must have a positive attitude, excellent persuasion skills, and the ability to handle complexity.
- They should possess a strong willingness to take on challenges and deliver the best results.
