Scientific Support Manager

The Scientific Support Manager will report to the Head of Technnical Key Account Managers.  This position will foster a professional relationship to support in providing our customers with the best possible service.


The Scientific Support Manager will deliver excellent scientific support and insights to the external customer and to internal parties.  In this position you will implement the scientific strategy of the assigned accounts and persuade external customers to use Datwyler Healthcare Solution's products based on scientific insights and technical information.  Listen to the customer and the business to collect pertinent scientific and technical information.  Act as the interface between the external customer and internal technical function in the pursuit of tactical and strategic goals.  Address scientific inquiries from customers and bring solutions in a timely manner.  Be proactive and forward-looking in upcoming scientific trends with a view to initiating internal projects.  Act as a scientific knowledge center for Datwyler Healthcare Solutions and continually improve internal knowledge.


The Scientific Support Manager will demonstrate industry-leading scientific and technical expertise inside and outside of the organization.  Bring integrity, accuracy, experience, and competence: "We sell confidence".  Build Datwyler Healthcare Solution's scientific and technical credibility internally and externally through:
       1. Delivering tech days, conference presentations, customer webinars and trainings, and internal trainings
       2. Building a scientific knowledge base through industry associations and attending external conference and trainings
       3. Acting as a networker to build scientific relationships with customers and the pharma industry
Adapt flexibly to differing customer situations, profiles and expectations.  Collect information (including competitor information) at events and customer interactions to support product and commercial strategy.  Be aligned with the Business Strategy, Product Strategy, and Customer Strategy.

Position Requirements

  • Masters degree is required
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in life sciences through education or work experience
  • An affinity for technical and scientific discussions with pharmaceutical customers
  • Ability to work in a scientific position between Datwyler's Healthcare Technical Services and Sales & Marketing
  • Scientific knowledge of drug products and therapeutic classes
  • Willing to develop detailed knowledge about Datwyler packaging components, specifically rubber
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to meet with internal and external customers
