DPS/Quality Manager
The Quality / DPS manager has many responsibilities. One will be to support our mold making operation by identifying technical issues and ensuring that quality tools are being designed and built per the applicable requirements. Two other responsibilities are to manage our quality and environmental systems as well as our DPS (Datwyler Production Systems).
Quality Responsibilities
- QUALITY
- Visual/dimensional inspection of tooling
- Reviewing customer drawings and specifications
- Monitoring and analyzing quality and environmental performance
- Investigating and troubleshooting tooling issues
- Corrective and preventive action
- QUALITY SYSTEMS
- Maintain current ISO 9001 & 14001 and other possible future certifications.
- Auditing systems based on ISO 9001 & 14001, and other possible future requirements.
DPS Responsibilities
- DPS (Datwyler Production Systems)
- As the overseer of the DPS, you will be responsible for implementing global standards aligned with Datwyler values and strategy.
- Through constant communication with the Site Leadership Team, site organization, and Head of DPS, shape the deployment of the DPS and define annual objectives and priorities following DPS guidelines.
- To ensure cooperation within the organization, disseminate information and plans throughout the site, and continuously communicate with the Site Leadership team and Head of DPS regarding issue resolution, escalation, and deployment status.
- Mobilize the organization through campaigns to enhance participation in Continuous Improvement activities and DPS deployment.
- To facilitate workshops and on-floor events, train Site DPS Leads and employees in DPS Lean principles, methods, and tools.
- As an ambassador and DPS enabler, connect front-line engagement with leadership in the plant and interface with stakeholders to make things happen.
- Organizes and realizes DPS Maturity Assessment:
- Prepare and conduct internal/external DPS Maturity Assessment in cooperation with the Site Director, Site Leadership Team, and Global DPS Team, according to the DPS standard guidelines.
DPS Responsibilites Continued
- Based on the results of the DPS Maturity Assessment, defines and follows-up on an action plan, in collaboration with Site Leadership Team, in cooperation with the Site Director, and Global DPS Team.
- Manages Site DPS Department Structure and competencies:
- Assures the organization is set up as needed to run CI in the plant.
- Builds the DPS Support structure in coordination with SD, SLT, and Global DPS.
- Defines and triggers DPS training programs/qualification within the DPS team and DPS support structure.
- Follow all QSR Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and regulations (And PPE)

- Additionally, the candidate must have a positive attitude, excellent persuasion skills, and the ability to handle complexity.

Desired Education /Experience
- High school diploma is required.
- A college degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology is preferred, but not required.
- Two years minimum of experience in rubber / plastic mold design preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment (rubber components preferred).
- Metrology experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in implementing Production Systems and possess expertise in DPS (Datwyler Production System) /Lean principles and methodologies is preferred, but not required.
- They should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in developing and implementing continuous improvement activities.
- CQE or CQM is preferred, but not required.
- Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred, but not required.
- Sound knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, DOE, GR&R activities
- Sound knowledge of ISO9001/ISO14001 quality systems
- ISO 9001 and/or 14001 internal audit training is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred, but not required.
