Are you passionate about bringing innovative products from concept to production? We are looking for a New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to lead the industrialization of new products, manufacturing processes, and tooling. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, suppliers, customers, and international Datwyler sites to ensure successful product launches and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities
- Lead trials, qualification, and validation of new molds and manufacturing processes.
- Support product launch projects and ensure smooth transition into serial production.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to industrialization activities.
- Drive production readiness activities for new products and technologies.
- Assess technical feasibility of new products and manufacturing technologies.
- Participate in tooling and equipment design reviews.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, productivity, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with automation specialists and equipment suppliers on process implementation.
- Provide technical support during product ramp-up and start-up phases.
- Troubleshoot process and tooling issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects.
- Support manufacturing transfer and relocation projects when required.
- Train operators and production teams on new processes and equipment.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and best-practice sharing across Datwyler sites.
- Support standardization of manufacturing processes globally.
Our requirements
- Degree or technical qualification in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or similar production environments.
- Proven experience with product industrialization, mold qualification, and process validation.
- Knowledge of silicone processing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing process optimization and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
