Position Summary

The Customer Project Manager manages product development projects within the Heath care segments. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. He/she oversees all aspects of projects: initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. Propose and sets deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Reports on project status and generates project documentation. 

You are willing to partly work out of our plants in Pennsauken (NJ) and Middletown (DE). This position will report to the Global Head of Customer Program Management located in Belgium (EU).

Essential Functions

Manage & Lead customer driven projects (bring project to a functioning product)

  • Communicate and interact with a multi-disciplinary project team
  • Manage operational execution of the project and deliver results in time

Customer Focus – Comply with customer requirements and market expectations

  • Have direct customer contact, fully understand the needs and translate these needs into a project plan.
  • Keep the customer up to date on progress and respond to customer requests.
  • Communicate effectively to both internal and external

Project documentation and reporting

  • Generate and keep up to date project related documentation according to process workflow
  • Report project status to stakeholders and/or Steering Committee

Provides Project management support

  • Project coordination between operations and sales for large internal initiatives
  • Provide support for developing new technology as it relates to new customer products/ process or new industry practices. 
  • Support the development of business cases for new technology, designs, products and services as it relates to customer driven requirements/needs.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Project definition: Define project scope and objective as well as manage changes, schedule and costs.
  2. Project planning: Lead all planning sessions and develop detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  3. Customer interaction: Meet with clients to understand and clarify specific requirements; maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
  4. Team coordination: Coordinate staff, internal resources and third parties/vendors for execution of projects ensuring resources availability and allocation
  5. Project execution: Manage project progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
  6. Project reporting: Conduct project review and create reports for executive staff; report and escalate to management as needed; oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation
  7. Technical support: Perform concept evaluation and selection exercises including definition of selection criteria; attend conferences and training as required

Your Profile

You have a master degree in engineering or equivalent. You have at least seven years of professional experience, preferably in a product development environment.  Basic knowledge of project management is a must. You are a good communicator, you can motivate a team and convince your stakeholders. You are customer focussed and capable of building up a network. Your strong organizational skills enable you to deliver the targets set. Because of the international focus of the position, a certain willingness to travel is indispensable, both domestically and overseas.
