Position Summary

The Industrial parts specialist is responsible for managing the maintenance parts program.

Essential Functions

Essential Functions / Four Most Important Tasks

  1. Process stocks and posts incoming part orders
  2. Prepare and perform annual parts inventory
  3. Keeps parts area clean and uncluttered
  4. Compiles stock control reports such as consumption rate and current market conditions, to determine stock supply and need for replenishment

Your Responsibilities

  • Process weekly stock orders
  • Notifies appropriate parties when special order parts arrive
  • Updates electronic parts files (SAP, Excel)
  • Maintains up-to-date parts price list
  • Provides necessary information to the warranty department to allow prompt filing of parts warranties
  • Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock
  • Returns parts as needed and removes from inventory after credit is received
  • Matches purchase orders and invoices, approves, and forwards to accounting office
  • Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, electronic, or schedule form.
  • Adheres to all safety rules in accordance with SOP’s, GMP as well as federal, state and local safety regulations.  Expected to demonstrate our Company values and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality required in order to meet production needs of customers. Willingness to work late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Works conscientiously and accurately, recognizes details. Identifies problems in time and strives to solve them. Observes rules and instructions. Collaborates on DPS initiatives for continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to elements including environmental heat and high heat from moving mechanical parts, small parts may be encountered on the floor, and dust particles may float in the air.  Work is done in both office space and in the plant where safety is a critical concern.  PPE must be worn.

Work conditions are those that are present in normal manufacturing environment.

The Industrial parts specialist must stand for prolonged periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs and gripping of 20 lbs.  Employees will experience substantial movements (motions) of arms, hands, wrists, and/or fingers. Employees must pass a vison test (with or without corrective lenses) as all work involves sharpness of different types as well as depth perception, color and field. Must wear proper personal protective equipment to include but not limited to gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety glasses, gowning, etc.
