Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to plan, organize, and direct daily maintenance activities within the plant and production areas. This position will plan and organize staff tasks and shifts, appraise performance, coach, counsel and discipline staff as needed. The Maintenance Supervisor will enforce systems, policies and procedures, track and report on KPI’s and will partner with other departments such as, engineering, quality, safety, and human resources to ensure compliance in his/her assigned areas. 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the daily oversight of the Maintenance Technician Team. 
  • Duties include  assigning preventive maintenance tasks in coordination with the planner scheduler.
  • To conduct training and ensure that maintenance technician training records are documented and current at all times. 
  • To coordinate work assignments for both project and break / fix activities. 
  • Is responsible for properly assigning staffing for all shifts (1,2,3,Wknd1,Wknd2) and ensuring that vacation / sick / callouts are covered. 
  • Working with the Facility & Maintenance Manager and Technical Manager the Supervisor will participate in the planning of Engineering Project support and large scale maintenance activities, executing on work breakdown tasks as assigned.
  • This position has a high level of autonomy and with that the responsibility to report in timely manner all significant facility system failures and corrective action plans.  Likewise equipment issues in all Production Areas. 
  • Maintenance Supervisor will support the conduct of all facility / production maintenance and repair activities within the guidelines of the Datwyler Quality System.

Your Profile

  •  A professional with 3 years’ related experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferably pharmaceutical manufacturing or pharma packaging.
  • Three years related supervisory experience.

    • Labor relations experience preferred.

    • BS/BA preferred.

    • Technical skills to include machine start-up and corrective actions.

    • Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • This position requires moving about as much as 70% of the workday in and throughout the plant; and the occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.  Objects are handled regularly, tools and machinery controls are manipulated, and items positioned above the head and on the floor must be reached.  Frequently the work requires squatting, stooping, bending, crouching and/or crawling.  Work is done in both office space and in the plant where safety is a critical concern.  There is exposure to elements including environmental heat and high heat from moving mechanical parts; small parts may be encountered on the floor; and dust particles may float in the air.  PPE must be worn.
