Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for executing and coordinating key Human Resources processes that support manufacturing operations. This role oversees talent acquisition, onboarding, training coordination, payroll administration, employee services, attendance management, and employee relations while ensuring compliance with labor legislation and company policies. The position acts as a strategic business partner to operations by delivering efficient HR services that contribute to organizational performance and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for hourly, technical, and administrative positions.
- Coordinate candidate interviews and selection activities with hiring managers.
- Ensure timely staffing to meet operational requirements.
- Support workforce planning initiatives and recruitment strategies.
Hiring & Onboarding
- Coordinate the hiring process for operational employees.
- Prepare and administer temporary and indefinite employment contracts.
- Coordinate and facilitate the plant onboarding program for new employees.
- Ensure all hiring documentation complies with legal and company requirements.
Training & Development
- Coordinate the plant-wide onboarding and orientation program.
- Administer the technical training program for critical positions.
- Maintain and update the operational skills matrix.
- Coordinate internal and external training programs.
- Deliver new employee orientation sessions.
Employee Services
- Coordinate weekly transportation services for regular and overtime shifts.
- Monitor daily transportation services to ensure operational continuity.
- Manage employee uniform administration and distribution.
- Support employee welfare initiatives and HR service programs.
Payroll Administration
- Administer the attendance and timekeeping system.
- Prepare operational payroll based on employee attendance and payroll incidents.
- Calculate weekly payroll for hourly employees.
- Administer incentive and special bonus programs, including perfect attendance, skill level bonuses, and temporary operational incentives.
- Manage grocery voucher administration.
Employee Relations
- Monitor employee absenteeism and attendance trends.
- Generate absenteeism reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the implementation of disciplinary actions in accordance with the Internal Work Regulations and applicable labor laws.
- Promote compliance with company policies and foster positive employee relations.
- Provide HR support to supervisors and employees regarding workplace concerns.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Previous experience within the automotive manufacturing industry is required.
- Experience supporting hourly manufacturing workforces is highly preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Mexican Federal Labor Law.
- Payroll systems (NOI preferred).
- Attendance and timekeeping systems.
- Recruitment and selection processes.
- Training coordination and competency management.
- Payroll administration.
- Employee relations and labor discipline.
- Internal Trainer Certification is preferred.
