Your responsibilities
From Customer Needs to Co-Engineered Solutions
- Collaborate closely with customers in early-stage co-engineering of sealing solutions to translate functional requirements into feasible, manufacturable, and cost-effective product designs.
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, ensuring early project involvement, continuous alignment, and seamless integration of feedback throughout the development process.
From Concept to Optimized Product Design
- Lead the design and 3D modeling of components and assemblies, ensuring functionality, manufacturability, sustainability, and compliance with customer and internal requirements.
- Initiate and interpret simulations (e.g., FEA, mold flow, demolding studies) in collaboration with internal experts to validate and optimize product performance.
- Create and maintain precise technical documentation, including drawings with GD&T, specifications, and reports to ensure clarity and alignment with customers and internal stakeholders.
From Optimization to Innovation
- Drive continuous improvement by integrating feedback from prototyping, testing, and production, while leveraging new materials, technologies, and innovations to enhance performance, reduce costs, and strengthen market competitiveness.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging materials, and advanced manufacturing technologies to deliver innovative solutions and protect intellectual property through patent filings.
Our requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, or Polymer Engineering, preferably with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in product development and simulation-based optimization.
- Proven ability to build strong technical customer relationships and engage early in projects to co-develop optimized, functional, and cost-efficient solutions. In-depth understanding of customer applications, end markets, and automotive requirements relevant to the Transportation & Electronics (T&E) Business Unit.
- Expertise across the full product development cycle, from CAD modeling and FEA to prototyping and manufacturing. Advanced skills in 3D modeling, design optimization, and GD&T, combined with solid knowledge of polymers and elastomers.
- Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of addressing complex product development challenges and delivering clear, concise technical documentation to support both customer requirements and internal project governance.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams while serving as the primary technical interface to the customer. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluent English (C1) required; good command of German (B2) is an advantage.
