Internship Continuous Improvement (f/m/d)
Group Functions, Duration: 6 months
We offer an exciting internship opportunity within our Group Continuous Improvement (CI) organization. This role provides hands on exposure to how an international industrial group develops its CI system, drives performance improvement, and supports capability building across divisions and sites. You will work closely with the Global CI Lead, the Operational Excellence team, and CI representatives across the company, contributing to the development, governance, and deployment of our Continuous Improvement framework. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement, operational excellence, and cross functional transformation within a global industrial organization.
Your responsibilities
As part of the Group Continuous Improvement team, you will support the evolution and consistent application of our CI system. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting CI governance routines by helping maintain standards, templates, and documentation aligned with the global CI framework.
- Consolidating and structuring CI materials, including methodologies, training content, maturity assessments, and project documentation in a centralized repository.
- Reviewing and aligning CI documents with Group standards and recognized Lean best practices to support harmonization across divisions and sites.
- Contributing to CI capability building, assisting in the preparation of training materials, problem solving guides, and learning modules.
- Supporting the global CI network, including preparing communications, tracking deliverables, and assisting in meetings, workshops, and best practice sharing sessions.
- Helping monitor CI performance, supporting the collection and structuring of KPIs, project pipelines, and maturity assessment inputs.
Our requirements
We are looking for a motivated and structured individual with the following background:
- BSc or MSc student (or recent graduate) in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Management & Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work with data, processes, and structured methodologies.
- Interest in Lean, Continuous Improvement, and operational performance.
- Comfortable working with documents, KPIs, and standardized frameworks.
- Clear and professional communication style, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders across geographies.
- Proactive, reliable, and detail oriented working approach.
- Confident user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Fluent in English (C1 level).
- At the time of the internship, the intern must be enrolled at an university in Switzerland.
