Sensor Engineer Advanced Technologies

Your responsibilities
- Lead and execute R&D projects focused on innovative materials and technologies, overseeing the entire product development process from idea conception to eventual industrialization
- Develop and optimize new smart materials for various products and applications, specifically sensors and actuators
- Prototype and materialize proof of concepts, encompassing the design, realization, and implementation of mechanical, electronic, and software components
- Design and construct test setups to evaluate, study, test, and optimize smart materials and their applications
- Employ modeling, simulation techniques, and data analysis to describe material behavior, refine performance models, and enhance material applications
- Manage the operational execution of development projects, ensuring timely delivery of results while considering market needs, competitiveness, scalability, intellectual property, and profitability
- Create and manage a network of internal and external partners, including development partners (academic or industrial), suppliers, and subcontractors
- Interact with customers and support commercial and business development activities in the area of new products and technologies
- Support technology scouting and innovation management activities
Our requirements
Our ideal candidate has a well-rounded profile with a mix of technical (electronics, mechanics, and software) and entrepreneurial competencies, particularly in the context of research and development and bringing ideas into products.
- MSc or PhD in electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a similar field
- Strong prototyping skills, with experience in programming (Python, C/C++), 3D printing, PCB design, and hands-on creation of mechatronics devices and systems
- Experience in scientific experimentation, data analysis, reporting, and knowledge of measurement technology
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and technology
- Highly driven, technically curious, result-oriented, and proactive
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain internal and external networks
- Fluency in English (written and oral, level C2), a good command of German is an advantage
