SoftPulse Specialist - Materials

Your responsibilities
As a “SoftPulse Specialist – Materials”, you will be responsible for SoftPulse® materials and lead the material development of the SoftPulse® portfolio. Your primary tasks will include providing support for all material-related topics within the SoftPulse® portfolio and conducting research to develop innovative solutions to enhance the performance and market fit of SoftPulse® electrodes. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of new products aligned with the Wearable Sensors Unit strategy.
You will also be responsible for developing characterization protocols for chemical, physical, electrical, and functional properties at both the development and serial production stages.
As a material expert, you will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers regarding material-related topics.
- Customer-related project work with tight schedules
- Effective customer communication and the ability to present complex topics to a general audience
- Maintain close contact with material suppliers and monitor the market for new materials
- Lead complex material and surface treatment development projects independently
- Contribute to mutual development projects with other teams in R&D, engineering, and advanced technologies using broad technical know-how and materials expertise
- Cross-functional collaboration at the site level and alignment with global teams
- Document work in detailed project reports and apply lessons learned from similar topics
Our requirements
- Background in materials science, chemistry, materials engineering, biomedical engineering, or a similar field (MSc or PhD)
- Experience in development of polymeric materials, compounds or composites, with focus on electrically conductive materials
- Background in electrode development for bio-potential detection and/or non-invasive stimulation
- Experience in the bio-signal acquisition field, preferably in the wearable domain
- Ability to learn new areas of materials science and apply newly acquired skills in practice
- Ability to provide technical support to customers and address their general inquiries
- Willingness to travel globally to support the business (up to 20%)
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; German is an advantage
