Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Lead Expert

 

As the MES Lead Expert at Datwyler IT Services, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes by implementing, managing and enhancing our future Manufacturing Execution System. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining MES solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and traceability across our manufacturing operations. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align MES strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless integration with other systems.

Your responsibilities

  • MES Strategy and Development: 
    • Be part of the global MES implementation team and help to develop and execute a comprehensive MES strategy aligned with the company's manufacturing goals and objectives
    • Design and implement MES solutions to streamline production processes, minimize downtime, and enhance product quality
    • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure the successful integration of MES with other systems (ERP, SCADA, etc.)
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead a team of MES specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment to drive continuous improvement in MES capabilities
  • System Configuration and Maintenance:
    • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot MES software and hardware components
    • Ensure data accuracy, system reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Process Optimization: 
    • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation using MES tools
    • Implement best practices to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production throughput
  • Training and Documentation:
    • Develop training programs and materials for MES users and operators
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of MES configurations, procedures, and workflows
  • Quality and Compliance:
    • Ensure that MES solutions support product quality standards and compliance requirements, such as ISO standards and regulatory guidelines

Our requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in MES implementation, configuration, and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of MES software platforms, ideally Hydra X from MPDV or equivalent
  • Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with discrete manufacturing processes
