Continuous Improvement Manager- Datwyler Production System Manager Summary / Objective

Works with and supports the local operation to identify and implement continuous improvement activitiesthe. Responsible to deploy and manage the Datwyler Production System ("DPS") programs and initiatives in the assigned manufacturing plant through implementation of global standards which are aligned with company mission, values and strategy. Works in very close cooperation with associates at all levels of the organization.

Essential Functions / Most Important Tasks

  1. Supports the Site Director in deployment of the DPS in the plant through implementation of global standards based on current conditions

  2. Develops the local implementation roadmap, manages the implementation activities, conducts internal DPS audits, and serves as amb

  3. Facilitates workshops and provides training and coaching to local organization to assure employee qualification in DPS methods

  4. Interacts within the global DPS Excellence Team to further develop DPS

Your Responsibilities

  • Site Champion for Datwyler Production System
  • Follows up with associates at all levels of the organization, building trust, rapport and achieving commitment to support our continuous improvement intitiatives
  • Optimize process parameters to increase productivity
  • Continuously follow up and drive continuous improvement projects and work assignments 
  • Perform quantitative analysis and conduct time and motion studies to improve the setup times and various other process parameters
  • Create and update visual work instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Implement and train associates in lean philosophy to facilitate overall improvement to the production process
  • Actively work with all levels of the organization to drive improvement initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires moving about as much as 25% of the workday in and throughout the plant; and the occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. This position can require occasional squatting, stooping, bending or crouching. Use of computer involves some repetitive motion. Business needs require that the employee in this position work an established 40-hour workweek and on occasion work additional hours outside of the standard schedule. Work is done in the plant where safety is a critical concern. Personal protective equipment must be worn including safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and/or protection from high noise levels. Wear protective clothing such as a uniform, over suit, hair net, beard cover, etc. must also in designated areas. Workday flexibility and willingness to travel 25%.VISION: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.  HEARING: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Your Profile

You are a professional with 3-5 years’ experience in operations, continuous improvement or project management in a manufacturing setting preferred .Knowledge of change management principles and methodologies required. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous knowledge of healthcare or pharma preferred.
