Position Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for maintaining production, quality performance levels, and the efficient use of manufacturing equipment in accordance with his/her knowledge and training in conformance with established Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice.

Essential Functions

Finished Product Evaluation

Conduct special tests or experiments as needed including, bioburden, endotoxin, & particulate testing.

Reporting

Prepare technical reports of reports & trends

Water System Monitoring

Conduct appropriate testing on site's water systems to ensure microbiological cleanliness requirements are met on a daily basis.

Cleanroom Environment Monitoring

Conduct appropriate testing to ensure that the cleanliness level of the surfaces and air within the site's cleanrooms

Your Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for testing, releasing and performance of materials (in process & final) for Rubber, water systems, & cleanrooms.
  • Countercheck and sign other laboratory personnel’s work. Perform all laboratory functions as needed to cover laboratory personnel absenteeism, as needed
  • Write & revise lab SOPs and Wis. Train new hires and other lab personnel as needed.
  • Production support by troubleshooting raw material and other problems as needed.

Your Profile

  • Minimum BS in Biology or other Science
  • 1+ years as a laboratory technician or biologist utilizing instrumental analytical methods.
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Office & SAP

Physical Requirements

This position requires moving about as much as 50% of the workday throughout the laboratory and/or plant; and the occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Frequently the work requires squatting, stooping, bending, crouching. Use of computer involves some repetitive motion. Business needs require that the employee in this position work an established 40hour workweek and on occasion work additional hours outside of the standard schedule. The work of this position is most often performed in a laboratory environment, which is protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. There is also periodic exposure to cold (e.g., on warehouse

floor). Personal protective equipment must be worn where required. Depending on work location, closed toe shoes, safety glasses, gloves or protection from high noise levels is needed. To ensure products satisfy the required quality levels and that operations are consistently efficient and effective, employees must wear protective clothing such as a uniform, coverall, frock, hair net, beard cover, etc. in certain areas of the facility.
