VOIP Engineer

Base Location: Riga, Latvia

 

The VOIP Engineer is responsible for delivering and supporting enterprise voice, IP network and mobile communications solutions, systems and all related technologies in a mixed sourcing delivery model.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage 3rd party providers and ensure service levels are achieved specific to Networking and telecommunications.
  • Coordinate large scale Voice & telecommunications projects.
  • Work with the Infrastructure teams to help design a strategy for Voice and Video communications.
  • Provide support for complex issues and problems relating to and around VOIP and skype for business.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate installation, contracts and systems configuration.
  • Support for daily interaction with vendors in regards to invoicing issues, dispute resolution, recommendations, etc.
  • Developing recommendations for the optimization of existing services.
  • Manage video and voice collaboration infrastructure and supporting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure Skype for business operations performance and reliability.
  • Ensure network standards and systems are maintained at all times.
  • Communicate in a timely manner potential risks in the area of Voice and telecom network and recommend preventative measures.

 

Required Skills & Specifications:

 

  • Strong business sense and profound VOIP and Skype for business knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of the requirements for a global deployment of Skype as the primary communications platform for voice, video and group audio conferencing.
  • Experience in managing Cisco, Polycom or related communication technologies.
  • Experience with IP-PBX systems.
  • CCNA / CCNP Voice qualified or similar/relevant experience.
  • Degree in Computer science, computer technology or equivalent experience.
  • Experience evaluating and working with technical details of complex networks and heterogeneous operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards in a global setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems in an innovative way.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Work proactively, cooperatively and contribution oriented.
  • Bear personal responsibility and demonstrate quality awareness.
  • Behave loyally and comply with rules, regulations and legal requirements.
